Medical Spanish Courses Resource List                                   

In an increasingly global world, knowledge of a foreign language is a key aspect of cultural competency. Spanish is a language spoken by millions people world wide and is important not only for working abroad but at home as well with the growing numbers of Spanish-speakers in the US.

The following list includes Spanish Language Immersion programs with a focus on medical Spanish. The length of the courses ranges from 4 days to 4 months, and the cost varies greatly as well. Some of the sites include a service component or a clinical placement. Home stays are available through many programs. The pre-requisites for minimum Spanish level or year in school vary. There are programs in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil (Portuguese), Chile, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Spain, and Venezuela.

The information provided is to give you a starting point in looking for Spanish Language Programs. You should plan on doing more research into the programs that interest you, including asking for references from previous participants.
